COD Sentry Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how COD Sentry collects, uses, and shares information when a merchant installs or uses the app in their Shopify admin.

• Merchant and store info (such as shop domain) to identify your store and provide app functionality.
• Order data required to score Cash on Delivery (COD) orders and display results in the app (for example order identifiers, totals, and statuses).
• Customer data that may be necessary to evaluate risk signals (for example email/phone when available via Shopify APIs and your approved scopes).
• App configuration you provide in Settings (for example thresholds, blocklist entries, and optional webhook URL).
• Technical data (logs and diagnostics) to keep the app reliable and secure.

We aim to collect only what we need to deliver the app’s core features.

• Provide and operate COD risk scoring and the review dashboard.
• Sync order/payment status when requested (for example via refresh).
• Apply your settings (thresholds, tags/notes, blocklist, alerts).
• Prevent abuse, maintain security, and debug issues.

We don’t sell personal information. We share information only as needed:

• With service providers that help us run the app (for example hosting and database providers), subject to confidentiality.
• With Shopify through Shopify APIs as required to provide the app’s functionality.
• With third parties you configure, such as an outbound webhook endpoint you provide in Settings (if enabled).
• For legal reasons if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

We retain data for as long as needed to provide the app and for legitimate business purposes (such as troubleshooting, security, and compliance). You can remove certain configuration data (like blocklist entries) from within the app. If you uninstall the app, we will stop processing new data from your store, and we will handle stored data according to our retention practices and applicable laws.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

• You can uninstall the app at any time from your Shopify admin.

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll update the effective date when changes are made.
